I\u2019m probably only intermittently girly.\u00a0 Yeah, skirts.\u00a0 Wear \u2018em most of the time if the weather isn\u2019t extremely cold.\u00a0 My hair is about waist length.\u00a0 But high heels?\u00a0 Not my thing.\u00a0 \u00a0Jewelry \u2013 mostly quite understated.\u00a0 Makeup?\u00a0 Same\/same.\u00a0 I wear it, but I go for understated.\u00a0 My \u201clook\u201d tends to be best described as well-put-together.\u00a0 However, it is<\/em> a specifically-chosen look, so that pushes the image back over to \u201cgirly\u201d a bit, doesn\u2019t it?<\/p>\n My fingernails are fairly short, but I don\u2019t bite them, so I do have a bit of a nail.\u00a0 Other than keeping them clean and neat, I don\u2019t often<\/em> wear nail polish.\u00a0 Rather, I\u2019ll go through a six week period of doing so, then put away the\u00a0manicure stuff for awhile.<\/p>\n I think, however, I may have found a look that I\u2019d be content with as a constant thing \u2013 the French manicure.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0This is the real thing, not the dramatically artificially-colored fingernail tips.\u00a0 I think the look can be cute as hell, but it doesn\u2019t match the way I<\/em> dress.\u00a0 No, I mean the subtle French Manicure with white tips, and a nail bed color that is close to your real nail bed color, maybe only better \u2013 rosier, deeper, less yellow, whatever.<\/p>\n I love this look because it\u2019s neat and pulled-together without being too dramatically obvious.\u00a0\u00a0 It looks good with a broomstick skirt or<\/em> a suit, and you don\u2019t have to have really long nails to pull it off.\u00a0 It also has the advantage of not showing wear at the tips very much[1]<\/a> \u2013 unlike darker nail polish.\u00a0 So I think this is something that\u2019ll last a great deal longer for me.<\/p>\n Now this pic is of my hand, and yes, I did this myself.\u00a0 It also took about ten tries to get the\u00a0process down to the point where it wasn\u2019t sloppy!\u00a0 So this is<\/em> something that takes practice and isn\u2019t something I can free-hand[2]<\/a> even with a pen, or would do at the spur of the moment.<\/p>\n
[1]<\/a> Chipped nail polish and discolored roots are a personal thing.\u00a0 I never notice in other<\/strong> people, but feel like a slob when I can see it in myself.<\/p>\n
