Well, I swam an 1800, so that&#8217;s slightly over a mile.  Took me 48 minutes and change.\u00a0 No, I am not a fast swimmer!\u00a0 For swims like these, I&#8217;m grateful for my Otterbox (waterproof casing for an iPod).\u00a0 I was listening to Jim Dale&#8217;s reading of <em>Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I wish there were some marathon open water swims where I live.  You&#8217;d <em>think<\/em> with all the lakes around&#8230; I mean hell, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lynnecox.org\/aboutlynne.htm\">Lynne Cox<\/a>, that crazy<sup>1<\/sup> woman who swam in the Antarctic spent her early childhood in Manchester, NH!<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m not in the least interested in participating in a triathlon, though.\u00a0 I remember bitching last winter and swearing I was gonna try to start an open water swim event. \u00a0 Looks like to get such a thing going, I may have to do just that.\u00a0 Feh. \u00a0 Maybe I could talk to the Master&#8217;s team over at my pool and see if there&#8217;s something doing I didn&#8217;t know about.<\/p>\n<p>I got some good news.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve got a month more on my gym membership than I thought I did.\u00a0 Gives me another month to dig up the money to continue it.\u00a0 I haven&#8217;t been doing worth a damn on the weights &#8212; at least getting my butt to the gym. \u00a0 For some reason, I&#8217;m more likely to stumble outside my bedroom first thing in the morning, and take 20 minutes six days a week to do an upper or lower body workout than I will go to the gym to do a full body workout three times a week.\u00a0 I suppose I shouldn&#8217;t sweat it.\u00a0 My body doesn&#8217;t care if I lift heavy stuff in a gym or in my home as long as heavy stuff gets lifted!<\/p>\n<p>But, I am swimming, which is also important.\u00a0 Lately I&#8217;ve been swimming on the days I&#8217;m not teaching computer classes.\u00a0 Gets me out of the house on days I don&#8217;t <em>have <\/em>to work away from my writin&#8217; chair, and ensures I do something besides sit in my writin&#8217; chair all day.<\/p>\n<p>I have to finish outlining a document for a client today and study for a class in MS Access I&#8217;m teaching tomorrow.<\/p>\n<p><sup>1<\/sup>I use the word &#8220;crazy&#8221; with the upmost respect.
