Since my pancreas doesn\u2019t care what I think,\nI have to work around that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Luckily, a reader asked for some ketogenic bento ideas.&nbsp; This got me to thinking more creatively, and\nthat means meals that don\u2019t make me grind my teeth in frustration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Building a Good Ketogenic Bento<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>A good keto-friendly bento has these qualities:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Simple to make<\/li><li>Low in carbohydrate<\/li><li>Tasty and satisfying<\/li><li>Relevant to the day<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Simple to make<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If something is too difficult, or if it takes too long,<a href=\"#_ftn1\">[1]<\/a>\nyou\u2019re not going to do it consistently.&nbsp;\nFor me, I want a bento that takes less than five or ten minutes to make.&nbsp; This means I often make use of dinnertime\ncooking to throw in something for the bento. &nbsp;I have a small countertop oven that can roast\nany meat you care to name pretty easily, so I\u2019ll often put something on while I\u2019m\nmaking dinner.&nbsp; After dinner, before I\nclean up the kitchen for the night, I prep the bento.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The bento above was unusually time-light.&nbsp; I took six minutes and thirty-eight seconds\nto make it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Low in carbohydrate<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>That\u2019s a \u201cduh!\u201d moment, right?&nbsp; You might like different\nvegetables and fruits than I do.&nbsp; Many\npeople who enjoy avocado<a href=\"#_ftn2\">[2]<\/a>\nfind this a good way to make a meal both tasty and satisfying.&nbsp; Fat helps you to feel satisfied, hence the\ncheese and dressing dip in this meal.&nbsp;\nAlso, you need to get enough fat in a ketogenic diet.&nbsp; It\u2019s a lot of your nutritional balance.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Relevant to the day<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>When you make keto-friendly bento, it\u2019s a good idea to give\nsome thought about what kind of day you\u2019re going to have.&nbsp; Will you be able to heat up your lunch?&nbsp; Will you need to be able to eat it with your\nhands, such as when you\u2019re on the road.&nbsp;&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is an excellent lunch when you\u2019re on the road.&nbsp; You can eat it quite neatly without a fork if\nneed be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Instead of a sandwich \u2013 verboten on a ketogenic diet, I made\nlunchmeat wraps.&nbsp; I take a slice of\nlunchmeat with a small, narrow slice of cheese, and wrap the meat around the\ncheese.&nbsp; You can experiment a lot\nhere.&nbsp; A combination my husband and I are\nextremely fond of is sliced roast beef wrapped around horseradish cheese.&nbsp; If you like flavored or specialty cheese,\nthese can be paired well with different deli meats.&nbsp;
