I have recently noticed a resurgence of (mostly male) persons posting things about how men should be *broader minded* consumers of women and thinking they’re wild’n'crazy feminist.

Just another little factor in my current morose mood….

Well, Wolfger, the rant was triggered by the commercial, but there’s still a complete CULTURAL value that pretty is how women are valuable or not. Otherwise those same beauty products would have no market.

It’s the cultural value I despise, and it isn’t only that commercial that tries to reassure the fat chicks they’re still pretty.

I mostly agree with what you say, but….
To throw stones at a BEAUTY PRODUCT COMPANY in a capitalistic society, because it focuses on beauty, is rather…. silly (to put it politely).

If the above rant were directed at some other source, like a school teacher, or a politician, then sure. 100% dead on. But if a beauty product company isn’t going to act like beauty is important, they may as well just go out of business.
